ZH cantonal Steuerfuss cut to 95 — biggest in 20 years

The Zürich Kantonsrat voted last week to lower the cantonal Steuerfuss from 98 to 95 for tax years 2026-27. For a single earner on CHF 120 000 in Zürich city, that's a CHF 240/yr saving. For a married couple on CHF 250 000, roughly CHF 720/yr. Bigger for higher incomes.

Action: nothing — the cut is automatic. Your first noticeable change appears in your 2026 assessment (filed spring 2027). City of Zürich commune unchanged at 119%.

Other 2026 canton moves we noted this week: SO held cantonal at 107%; AR considering a small cut for 2027; ZG, SZ, NW unchanged.
